Tokusatsu (特撮?), sometimes shortened to Toku, is a Japanese term that applies to any live-action film or television drama that usually features superheroes and makes considerable use of special effects (tokusatsu literally translates as "special filming" in Japanese).

In the case of the Inazuman franchise, a live-action television series was broadcast from 1973 to 74, running alongside the manga by creator Shotaro Ishinomori, composed of the first Inazuman series (1973-74) as well as the conclusion series Inazuman F (1974). The eponymous hero, who was distinguished from his manga counterpart by being named Goro Watari as opposed to Saburo Kazeda, would make a cameo appearance in the Kamen Rider Series 40th anniversary feature film OOO, Den-O, All Riders: Let's Go Kamen Riders (2011) alongside fellow Toei Company heroes Kikaider, Kikaider 01, and Zubat.

Though not leading a work of his own, Saburo Kazeta was a new incarnation of Inazuman that featured in the crossover films Kamen Rider × Kamen Rider Wizard & Fourze: Movie War Ultimatum (2012) and Kamen Rider × Super Sentai × Space Sheriff: Super Hero Taisen ZIcon-crosswiki (2013).
